Within the second summit on renewable energy sources, First Vice Minister of Energy Makhambet Dosmukhambetov announced the results of the first thematic Kazakhstan’s bidding.
“Yesterday a series of RES auction finished. Of 10 auction biddings, 8 were held successfully. The bidding showed the great interest of both local and international participants. Thus, in general, 42 companies from six states took part in actions, such as Russia, France, Bulgaria, Turkey, China and Kazakhstan,” said Vice Minister of Energy Makhambet Dosmukhambetov.
According to him, it was a debut auction in an electronic format in Kazakhstan held in the sphere of energy.
“The participants offered the applications for the total capacity of 960 MWt, that increased the demand by almost four times. All experts that took part in electronic bidding, and observants note a high level of transparency, security and simple nature of auctions. It resulted in the reduction of the tariff in wind power stations by 20%, and in the small HPS – by 23%, in solar stations by 25.5%. 19 companies have already had an opportunity to sign contracts with the unified purchaser of RES energy for 15 years with the total capacity of 194 MWt,” said Dosmukhambetov.
